Why Group Training? (also known as GT)

Anyone can do it!
No matter what your current fitness level is, GT is for everyone.
A well-designed GT Session offers a progression of each exercise for novice, intermediate, and advanced.
As you improve your fitness and strength, the progressive difficulty of each exercise will continue to challenge you.
You get results fast!
Sessions utilise basic movements to create non-stop one-hour workouts that target every muscle in the body. Plus, the unique environment of our sessions push you out of their comfort zone, which helps you build stronger muscles faster, develop better endurance, and accelerate progress towards your fitness goals. Consistency, Consistency! GT sessions help create structure and CONSISTENCY in participant's lives!
People in our sessions form a unique bond because they're all going through the same thing together.
The camaraderie, intensity, and different exercises makes GT alot more fun than most typical programs, time management., everyone is busy, but in a 60 minute GT sessions you get a vigorous and effective total body sculpting plan as well as cardio.
Sessions offer high-calorie burning workouts for the modern person who is often short on time.

What is Group Training?

Well it’s a group of people who get together with a trainer in this case two trainers, very similar to bootcamp however we do not ask for a set amount of money up front for a set amount of weeks, we run ongoing sessions at a set cost each week, this way if you can’t make one session you are not penalised by knowing you paid money upfront.
Our sessions are run five times a week, with more opening in the future.

How much wil it cost me?

Each personal training session goes for 30 mins at a rate of $45.00. (contact for multiple sessions per week)
Each Group Training sessions goes for 60 minutes and is $15.00 for the session.

How many sessions a week do I have to do?

It depends on what your goals are. Call for a free consultation today! Generally most people train 2 to 3 times a week some every day.

What about inclement weather?

PT sessions are done in an air conditioned studio.

What do I need to bring?

You should bring water and a towel and if you have them a yoga matt and boxing gloves and mitts ( if you don’t we can sell them to you at a cheaper price than the shops). We recommend workout pants and t-shirt/tank top and running/athletic shoes.

Will you yell at us?

Yes, there will be some yelling involved, but only in a motivating and healthy manner. We don't abuse, harass or degrade, just positive reinforcement and encouragement and some good jokes and fun.

Will I be sore?

Most people feel some soreness after the first few weeks. It gets better as time goes on.

What other benefits does MyPT provide besides an intense workout?

You will enjoy the combination of personal attention and social interaction from both our GT and PT sessions. Also, people who exercise regularly are happier, healthier and live longer. Exercise helps prevent heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, arthritis and cancer. Exercise has also proven to reduce stress, anxiety and depression and increase energy and stamina.

What if I have a specific injury (i.e. bad knees or back) or can't perform a certain exercise?

We will provide modified workouts that are personalised for you as alternatives to strengthen your body and still give you the most intense workout you can have.

How soon will I see results?

As everyone has different goals and bodies, some can see improvements in body fat reduction and performance in as little
time as 1-2 weeks. Many see improvements in 3 weeks, depending on your effort level and maintaining a healthy diet.
You will see better results if you change your diet and attend regular exercise. Ask us how we can set a program for you when you are not with us. If you attend regular PT and group sessions it is very common to see a loss of body fat and improvement in fitness and body strength. At Group Training (GT) we do assessments and fitness tests to gauge fitness improvements. These tests will be recorded to show and document improvement and areas to improve on to maximise individual results.

What kind of people have a personal trainer?

People just like you! Personal training is that, personal, we all hire one for our own reasons and we are all at different fitness levels: we are all different shapes and sizes and ages. You do not have to be an athlete or physically fit to start. We establish a baseline for you and set goals and monitor you throughout your time with us. We have a range of people, from those who have never worked out to those who are physically fit. Everyone has a challenging training program, we all have out own individual goals that push us to achieve.

Been training but hit a plateau?

You have been training hard but hit a Plateau, booking in with a PT couple of times a week is what you are looking for. We will get you back into the game and train you out of your plateau, Through looking at your past training efforts and milestones we will design a new program that will get you in the right mental frame of mind to kick start your motivation.

You are new to exercise ?

Are you a first timer or has it been a long time since you worked out? As we work out of a studio there is no need for fear of intimidation as you might feel when you go to large busy health clubs. MyPT Trainers are passionate about making you feel welcome, they will become your buddy and your coach. You will learn a lot about yourself and become aware of your strengths. Our personal trainers will write a program tailed to you, demonstrate technique to reduce injury, monitor your progress and talk openly to you about your goals ensuring you reach those goal.
