    Spring Cleanse Part 2

In the last newsletter I covered the basics of the seasonal cleanse process. If you missed the previous article here is the link so you can catch up on the news . There are many benefits to attain from detoxifying the body seasonally, including enhanced energy levels, better sleep, improved digestion, more mental clarity, a better ability to use fat as a fuel source (a must if you want to lose body fat and tone those troublesome areas), increased immunity and a reduction in inflammation.

After you have completed part one of the cleanse, the next stage involves reintroducing healthy bacteria to the digestive system to further enhance the above mentioned benefits. Here’s how it works:

    1) For a further 2 week period continue the dietary recommendations from part one

    2) Introduce probiotic foods such as yoghurt and kefir, and/or a probiotic supplement, which will repopulate the healthy gut bacteria

    3) Include lacto-fermented foods and drinks with each meal eg sauerkraut, kvass

The benefits you will gain from the spring cleanse will be well worth it. Please do not hesitate to ask me if you have any further questions on this process. Remember you can always seen a Naturopath to help you with a cleanse, I recommend Anthia Koullouros from www.ovvioorganics.com.au or you can attend a Gut Gardening workshop by Origin of Energy to learn more.
